Crawling into there did not look like freedom to me I just noticed that the round part in the first pipe they have to crawl through moves, it was probably to close the pipe at some point....imagine if it just like shut close , locking them in the bunker or even worse....get them stuck in the pipe

When I was a kid I would be fearless in exploring these death traps like that. Now as an adult , I shudder at the stupid things I used to do. When I was in high school, we hid in the gym storage room after PE class, the teacher locked us in there. I brought my leather man pocket knife to school deliberately so that we could use the pliers to pry open the service floor tile to get beneath be basketball courts which were 40 years old. Underneath the courts there was this shaft that dropped maybe 4 meters down and then carried on but you couldn’t see how far because of the angle. If it wasn’t for my more sensible friends, I would have climbed down not thinking about how to get back up.
